OOU Lecturers Embark On Indefinite Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, has embarked on a sit-at-home strike action over the inability of the state government to fulfill the promises regarding a Memorandum

of Understanding it signed with the union in December 2015 as well as non payment of their July salaries.

The decision to embark on a strike action was arrived at after the unions congress held at the institution’s permanent campus in Ago-Iwoye on Monday.

According to the union, the state government has abandoned its responsibility to the institution by not honouring the 70:30 ratios contribution by the state Government and OOU management in payment of salaries.
